Every relationship, especially married couples, has its ups and downs, its rough periods. Even in the best of circumstances, there are going to be difficult times.
People change.
Circumstances change.
Emotions change.
Over time, the natural ebb and flow of everyday life places incredible pressure on a relationship.
Almost unnoticed at first, you begin to think thoughts that had once been unthinkable. "I love him, but I'm not in love with him. Not anymore." "I'm not attracted to her, not like I was in the beginning." "Maybe if we separated for awhile ..."
The skies can darken in a hurry.
But if you survive these darkest of times, you may find you emerge with a stronger, more trusting relationship than you ever imagined possible.
Healthy relationships form a critical part of our personal happiness and contentment with our lives. All relationships change with time. It is normal to encounter lapses in our relationships that make us feel stuck and unhappy, and that we are unable to resolve by ourselves. These difficulties may appear in any type of relationship and manifest in many ways. Some of these include feeling isolated due to a longing to be heard and understood; lingering anger and resentment due to difficulties with productive communication and problem solving skills; and an inability or uneasiness to become close and share intimacy with others.
So what I can do is work with couples, friends, and families, and co-workers who have gotten off the track, who want to feel more respected, admired and cherished by their mates, friends, family, and or co-workers. I help people to heal from their loss(es) and experiences of betrayal; repair ruptured trust; develop loving intimate relationships; replace shame with self-acceptance; and communicate authentically, skillfully and kindly.
Inspiration
:" We need to give to each other the space to grow, to be ourselves, and to exercise our diversity. We need to give others space so that we may both receive such beautiful things as ideas, openness, dignity, joy, healing and inclusion."
